Posting #190 – Why does the State of Virginia Want to Lock Josh Away as a Sexually Violent Predator?

Date:  02/01/2010

Virginia Supporters,

We first learned of Josh’s situation when his mother sent us the petition signed by 25 inmates at the Piedmont Regional Jail, http://www.rsolvirginia.org/blog_163.html .

Since then we have written numerous e-mails to ALL the Virginia Legislators, to ALL the Representatives from Virginia in Washington DC, to the Virginia ACLU, to Local and National Media and we’ve spoken to a handful of reporters both in-person and on the phone about Josh, civil commitment in Virginia and the conditions and treatment at the Piedmont Regional Jail.

One reporter that Josh’s mother contacted took notice of the situation and understood what was happening is extremely unjust and he wrote about it in a three part series.
