Posting #266 – Contact Your Representative in Washington DC Today!

Date: 10/24/2010

Virginia Supporters,

The U.S. Congress and Senate return to session on Monday November 15, 2010.

Any bill that has passed the House or the Senate will need to pass the second chamber before the holiday break to then be sent to the President to be signed into law.

There are quite a few bills that we are still monitoring that could pass and we need to do everything possible to stop them. We will be mailing letters and sending e-mail’s to all the members of the Senate for any bill that has not yet passed the U.S. Senate.

We’ll be mailing letters and sending e-mail’s to the sponsors and co-sponsors of these bills and finally to the House Committee members that any of these bills still need to go before.

We are asking you to contact your one U.S. Congress member from Virginia and our two U.S. Senators from Virginia and ask them to amend or oppose these bills.

If you do not know who your district’s representative in Congress is, please e-mail your street address, city and zip code and I will send you their information immediately.

Senator Mark Warner 459A Russell SOB Washington, D.C. 20510 (202) 224-2023

Senator Jim Webb 144 Russell SOB Washington, DC 20510 (202) 224-4024

In this Bulletin Board Posting we will address a few of the older bills. To see the list of ALL the bills we are monitoring go to, http://www.rsolvirginia.org/In_DC.html

Thank you for your support.

#4 and #5 are very similar.

Neither has been voted on which is very good.

Sadly each State classifies their SVP’s differently and the Static 99 evaluation tool penalizes homosexual’s simply for being homosexual.
Until there is an effect tool to determine who can not benefit from treatment in prison and while on probation and who will reoffend again, civil commitment in America is failing everyone and it’s costing Virginians alone $10 million a year today and $16 million in the near future.
